Despite last week’s hindrances, Due South continued on with the publication of its Fall 2019 Diversity and Inclusion issue. The launch party was held yesterday Nov. 20, with around 250 copies distributed to students and community members who stopped by to support the publication.
Sweet treats, Due South buttons, and free copies of the magazine were available in front of the Student Center. Despite some worries that the launch date would need to be pushed back or for the possible backlash against the issue, the launch party got off without a hitch.
Sara Boone, Editor-in-Chief of Due South was extremely pleased with the outpouring of support over the last week.
“I’m so proud of my staff and the community for standing up for their beliefs and realizing the importance of this issue,” Boone said. “We’re so happy to have gotten such a positive reaction to the stories in the magazine.”
The Fall 2019 issue of Due South is now currently available and being distributed throughout campus, as well as some local businesses around Mobile. Make sure to pick up a copy of the highly anticipated magazine for yourself. For a complete list of the Due South distribution locations go to the Jag Media website.
