ABOUT US
The Vanguard is the official student-operated newspaper of the University of South Alabama, serving the University’s student, staff, faculty and campus community since 1965. The Vanguard is provides a hands-on learning environment and informs the public of campus news and issues.
All of our staff positions are paid. Students work as editors, reporters, and photographers. For the 2023-2024 Academic Year, meetings are mainly held on Wednesdays at 3:30pm in the Communications Building Library on the 2nd floor.
