On March 31, people flocked to the ballroom, dressed in their very best suits and dresses, while concealing their faces with extravagant masks. On that Tuesday, The Wizarding Society at USA and Alpha Gamma Delta hosted a Deathly Hallows Masquerade Ball for students to enjoy. The event took place in the USA Student Ballroom at 6:30 p.m. The dress code was formal clothing, and masks were required. Food and refreshments were provided, as well as a backdrop for photos. Overall, it shaped up to be a magical night that was filled with fun for everyone in attendance.

The founder and current vice president of The Wizarding Society, Austin Gatewood, described the night as one “inspired by the legend of the Deathly Hallows symbol” and “all about mystery, magic and unforgettable experiences.”

The Wizarding Society was started in March of 2025. Since their early beginnings, they have held events made to give students an escape from their everyday lives and into the world of magic. Some of the most recent events include “Hogwarts House Olympics,” where teams competed in magical challenges, and “Honeydukes Happy Hour,” which was held in the humanities courtyard, providing butterbeer to students.
